Product description

Flat rubber cork seals ensure sufficient contact area, reducing the risk of the seal slipping off the sealing surface. They also guarantee excellent compressibility and can be used for sealing uneven surfaces (unevenness, paint residues and welding deformations). Most flanges show deflection under load.

Seal adaptability is critical under such conditions and POWERcork materials ensure a leak-free seal in these cases.

POWERcork has been subjected to very demanding ageing test conditions (over 1,500 hours at 167°C, under pressure and in full contact with oil) simulating a service life of over 30 years.

POWERcork sealant is a blend of cork and NBR elastomer.

• Suitable for most transformer oils at operating temperatures.
• Suitable for mineral oil, natural ester oil, silicone oil. Acceptable for SF6 gas.

POWERcork is suitable for mineral and silicone oils according to:

• ASTM D3455 - Methods for testing the compatibility of materials of construction with petroleum-based electrical insulating oil.
• ASTM D5282 - Test methods for compatibility of materials of construction with silicone-based fluid used for electrical insulation.

Complies with all current requirements for hazardous substance content.

• Asbestos-free
• Contains no heavy metals - Pb, Cd, Hg or Cr (VI)
• Does not contain polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)
